Like It Is: Real-World Application of the Dash Diet for Low-Income Populations

Presented By

Randy Wexler, MD, MPH, FAAFP
Associate Professor of Family Medicine
Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs
The Ohio State University

In this webinar, Dr. Wexler will present practical advice for care providers who want to help patients manage their hypertension. A nationally recognized researcher of the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension), Dr. Wexler will present recent study results of the DASH diet, review its benefits, and provide pragmatic strategies that caregivers can adopt to help low-income patients understand and maintain the diet.

In addition, there will be an update on Cardi-OH’s progress and upcoming events, and a brief preview of our Project ECHO, a telehealth model that links healthcare providers across the state via videoconferencing technology to share best practices.

The Ohio Cardiovascular Health Collaborative (Cardi-OH) brings together health care providers from across the state to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and management of cardiovascular disease in Ohio’s Medicaid population. Through webinars, seminars, video-conferencing, and its website, Cardi-OH aims to disseminate practical information, promote shared learning, and advance best practices of cardiovascular health management.
